Admission Requirements
Students must apply for admission to the Honors Program. Applications may be obtained from the Honors Program Chair. Each application will be reviewed and admission determined by the Honors Program Chair. Students may apply at any time during the academic year. To be eligible to apply for the STC Honors Program, a student must be THEA complete and must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- An ACT score of 24
- An SAT composite score of 1140
- A cumulative college GPA of 3.25, excluding developmental courses
- A ranking in the top 10 percent of high school class
To apply, the student must submit the following:
- Official data demonstrating scores on the ACT, SAT, or GPA
- THEA complete verification
- Fill Out Honors Program Application
Continuing Eligibility
To remain in the Honors Program, the student must maintain a 3.25 G.P.A. with a minimum of 12 hours credit while attending South Texas Community College. If a student falls below that average, the student will be placed on probationary status for one semester. Removal from probationary status is achieved by raising the cumulative G.P.A. to 3.25 or higher. A student who continues to maintain a G.P.A. lower than 3.25 beyond the probationary period will be dismissed from the Honors Program.
