Tech Prep - Overview
"Tech Prep" is a federally funded program designed to aid high school students in achieving higher education and gaining valuable skills for success in the workforce. Tech Prep is part of a national educational initiative in academic education blended with vocational and technical education. The high school and the college work together by articulating college level technical courses with equivalent courses taught at the high school.
South Texas College is a participating member of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Tech-Prep consortium. South Texas College honors credit earned through the Advanced Technical Credit Program towards Tech Prep Associate of Applied Science Degrees and Certificates.
