Purpose

SmartEvals is an anonymous Course and Instructor evaluation system and has replaced the paper-based system. Each semester you will be invited to complete a short 10-minute survey about teaching effectiveness for each course you take. The success of the evaluation process depends on your participation and on the quality of answers provided. We encourage you to take the time to provide thoughtful answers.

Student FAQs

Why can't I access my evaluations?

When an evaluation is unavailable, the most common cause is that the evaluation period is not yet open. Verify the evaluations and dates available in the notification e-mail sent to you. Please e-mail curriculum@southtexascollege.edu if you have technical issues accessing your course evaluations.

I missed the deadline. Can I still submit the evaluations?

Unfortunately, once an evaluation period has closed, we are unable to re-open it. Please monitor your STC and personal e-mail account on file for notifications and deadlines.

How do I update my personal e-mail?

Login to JagNet, click on the “My STC” icon under Student Apps, go to the Personal Information link under the Email section, you can either add a new personal email or edit the existing one.

I don't remember my username or password.

Use https://mypassword.southtexascollege.edu/ to reset your password or contact the Help Desk at 956-872-2111 or isphelp@southtexascollege.edu with your A number for assistance.

Are the evaluations anonymous?

All evaluations are anonymous and instructors do not get the results until after grades are submitted. There is no identifying information on the evaluations.

I am still having technical issues accessing my evaluations.
